Leaks water out seams

Bought 3 total. The first 2 were purchased last year and were good. The one purchased this year leaks out the bottom seams. Don't really see how it can be considered self-watering when it leaks the water out. Very expensive to not get the complete self-watering feature out of it. Had already put soil and plant in when it was noticed so didn't return. Will try and fix it myself with flex seal.

Works great for watering from the bottom. My flowers did well during the water restrictions in Calgary. I had the reservoir filled luckily before the water restrictions hit. Make sure you drain before winter freezing or it will expand and crack.

Q: Can this be outside during the winter? I want this planters for both summer flowers and winter(Christmas) decorations.

A: Mine are stored in a garden shed. I ensure that I drain the water out before putting away. I see no reason why you couldn’t use fior a Christmas deco I thought of that as well but haven’t used them yet

Q: Since these planters don't have a removal plastic liner, will the 'self-watering' still work if I leave my plant in it's plastic pot and just place into this planter? Yes my plant pot has 6 drainage holes at the bottom

Q: Is there a drain plug to drain for winter? What’s the easiest way to fill the 5 gallon reservoir as the top fill port is very small.

A: There is no bottom drain. Option 1: Typically the soil and plants are removed and the plant is placed on it’s side or upside down to drain out the water. Option 2: You also have the option of drilling out a hole at the bottom of the planter. Q: Does the entire planter need to be filled or is the upper portion sectioned off for a smaller insert?

A: This item is double walled so you will not need to fill the entire planter with soil. The interior planting dimensions are 12” Height/depth and 9.5” Width.

Q: How do you remove the water at seasons end? I always re-use my same potting soil in my large planters every year by just adding Miracle Grow Shake N Feed. Do you have to dump and replace your soil every year??
