Nice planter but

a year ago

I purchased this planter for the self watering feature. It has been planted for a couple of weeks now and I had not yet filled the reservoir to allow the plants to root. When I filled it, I discovered there was a leak in the corner, below the overflow for the reservoir. I am hoping it can still draw water from the reservoir, or it is a really expensive regular style planter. I am not uprooting my now established plants.

This plastic planter looks great on my patio. It is not very big but it works for 2 basil plants and a rosemary plant. It matches the other black plastic planters I have.

Q: Confused. Do you remove the green plugs at the bottom of the planter (Algreen self-watering Covington model) or leave them in before filling with soil. Thank you
