Air Hogs RC 2-in-1 Hyper Drift Drone

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We received the 2 in 1 Hyper Drive by Air Hogs a day before my son's 10th birthday. It was a huge hit. Patience is not a virtue of a trip year old, so the hour waiting for it to charge was a lot of looking at the box, checking the flashing charge light, "is it ready yet?"-then start that process over. After the drone was ready, we spent 15 minutes learning to drive and fly it before it died and needed a recharge. Since that first day, the drone has tormented the family pets while providing entertainment for family and friends. The charging port is easy to access. Once you get a feel for the ground controls, switching to the air gets a bit confusing, but after a few times it becomes easier. The kids (10 & 16) as well as the forty-somethings in the house have learned to be a bit more patient while the drone charges. It has fallen from the sky, crashed into walls without damage to the floor, furniture, walls, or drone. You do want to keep longer hair away from the rotating blades, while we never experienced an incident, we've had something similar happen in the past. We have another birthday coming up in the family and I have a feeling a green drone will be added to the household, to double the play time or to race for the family championship (or maybe to gang up on the pets that outnumber us - just kidding)

It was easy to take this toy and turn it into a science lesson for my kids. We looked at how the physics of it works and the mechanics of it online, while also getting advice on how to fly it with the most success, before trying it ourselves. When the time came to take it out of its packaging and give it a trial fly, it was easy for my boys to do and they had a ton of fun doing it. It does take some getting used to to be able to fly it with ease, but once you get past the learning curve, it provides hours of entertainment. My boys both love this toy and often fight over it, so I will have to get another one for Christmas :-)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My two boys love the Airhog 2 in 1 Hyper Drift Drone. My nine year old received this drone for his birthday. My twelve year old son loved it so much that he asked me to buy another one for him. This drone can fly and also glide on the floors. It has a special attachment that is used to convert it from flying to gliding. It is easy to transform it from flying to gliding. The controller is also easy to use. The two boys figured it out without reading the directions. I think this toy is good for boys aged five or older. However, younger children will need help. The toy is made of flexible plastic. It has survived falls from high distances and running into walls. It seems like it will last for a while.

They unwrapped it together and enjoyed it right away! My son thought it was a lot of fun and good quality. He said that he thought you'd be able to use it on water so that was confusing to him. He also felt it was a bit complex at first and needed his Dad's help. After figuring it out they had a lot of fun with it. I would definitely recommend this for kids on my sons age range. It's a toy that will keep them active but still seems high tech. I think this would be a great gift and can't imagine boys not enjoying it.
