Returned disappointed

Fell apart on assembly. The corner blocks popped apart. There was obvious insect damage to the wood that wasn’t visible on the outside of the package. Whomever cut the notches in the posts should have seen that and rejected them.

3 out of the 4 packages the post slots were cut half of the size of the slats. Clearly quality control is non-existent.

Flimsy design

This bed is junk; the posts hang on with 1/8th inch connection the the center of the post, and split off if you breathe on them. The posts were all cracked. It's a terrible, flimsy design, with no structural integrity. This design could never work with cedar; the only chance would be tough plastic for the corner posts. Even then, it would likely fall apart. If you want to build any shape other than the tiny squares, the pressure of the soil will make it all collapse. Be prepared to use extra wood and plenty of screws and wire to jury-rig it to last one season.
No, I do not recommend this product.

A: You have many ways to organize it: - 2 small squares of 2'x2' covering a total area of 8 sq. ft. - a rectangle of 2'x6' covering a total area of 12 sq. ft. - an L-shape of 4'x4', but with a lacking corner of 2'x2', then covering a total area of 12 sq. ft. - a full square of 4'x'4 covering a total area of 16 sq. ft. I'll go eigher with the L-shape, for the practical access and the beauty of unusual shape, or the big square, to maximize the area available to plant (probably that then!).

Q: Is it pressure treated or untreated? Is it safe to grow vegetables in it?

A: Untreated. Took a bit to put together, however is very nice when set up, very attractive in yard. We are growing veggies in it.

A: Probably fit…. However I would not recommend it. The wood is very poor quality. Splits very easily especially the corners. In retrospective I should of stopped putting it together and returned it.

A: There is no way to stack them deeper without buying extra hardware and retrofitting the corner posts. The corner posts are only to a certain height, 12 inches I think.
