Poor quality, returned

The build quality of this product was very poor. Plastic parts were used at load bearing joints which led to swaying of the whole structure. We kept it outside on our patio and a small gust of wind almost knocked it down.

Extremely Poor Quality, Save Your Money

I knew this would be a bit flimsy, given the display model in store. But I was not expecting it to be impossible to put together. The holes in the plastic brackets, to house the piping, were full of plastic globs, making it impossible to insert the piping. A house of cards is stronger. And for once, I could not find my receipt to return it. My daughter made a hack around... she crimped the ends of the pipe, then used a soldering iron to soften the plastic, before jamming the pipe in. This actually worked, and the result is sturdier than the store display. The only reason I gave it 1 star, is because the zippers work... though I'm not sure for how long.

A: Leeann of Shelter Logic who makes the product had a great suggestion when I told her I could not find proper fitting wheels. She suggested putting the greenhouse on a board with a 3 wheel dolly caster underneath. This is actually cheaper than buying 4 casters! Thank you Leeann!

A: Yes, however you will have to use cable ties to secure to the shelves above the plants.

A: This is for starting seedlings so we have not put too much weight on it. Two trays or 15 larger pots perhaps. Pretty strong I’d say.

A: Yes they can! I took out the top shelf when my plants got too tall and moved the plants to the second shelf to allow their height. The shelves are light wire that simply rest over the support bars.

A: The 59-6190 Plant Tower X-UP is made up of 2 basic components: The frame is steel and will last indefinitely, unless abused. The cover is heavy duty clear PVC, and as such, is susceptible to sun damage overtime. In warmer climates (i.e. southern US) the cover will last a couple of years if left outside all the time. In Canada, we expect the cover to last longer. It is recommended that the cover be stowed in a dry place, out of the sun when not in use.
