Effective but I would still use it outdoors when working with stronger smelling compounds.

I still worked with this mask outdoors, but I found it worked well to cut the vapours involved with auto body work. I could still smell some odours lightly when I had to get close to my work materials for detailing the work.

I bought this to block a strong hotel air freshener at work. It was an extremely strong rose floral scent, pumped into the hotel lobby 24/7. Most large hotel chains use strong scents 24/7 as part of a marketing campaign. Strong floral scents trigger my Migraines. I had to walk through the lobby, to get to and from our store. This mask blocked the Rose odor, and kept me from getting a Migraine!
