These retractable straps work well. It’s my second set of these (I also have another set of the 1-inch size). I used them to hold 4 sheets of slatwall on my roof racks. They were each 8 ft long so I linked the two 2-inch straps lengthwise on each side and then used both the 1–inch straps to hold them together over the 4 ft width. Worked well. All the straps release easily and retract just as easily (just run the straps back through two fingers to avoid tangles and control the speed). On the down side, they’re a bit heavy and bulky with metal edges. I wrapped them with plastic to avoid scratches. I would recommend them, especially if they are on sale.

Q: How long are these straps? It say 12" in the title but 10' in the description.

A: They do extend to 10 feet, however I don’t recommend extending them this far as I’ve had to return 3 sets now due to the retracting spring breaking.
