What snorkel gear do I need to go snorkeling?

Snorkeling requires a mask, snorkel, and fins/flippers. It’s important to choose a reputable brand to get good-quality materials, the right fit, and ensure safety in the water.

How do I know what kind of snorkel gear to get?

There is a range of masks, flippers, and snorkel types that you can choose from. Ultimately, your choice will depend on your preferences and needs. For example, there are two types of masks you can choose between – a regular snorkeling mask that covers just the eyes and nose, or a one-piece mask that eliminates the need for a separate mask and snorkel. A one-piece mask allows you to breathe normally through your nose, which is helpful if you’re anxious about having to breathe through your mouth. There are also specialty snorkels that channel water away from the tube or seal off the tube when underwater.

When it comes to the mouthpiece of a traditional snorkel or your fins, the fit is the most important thing to consider.

What is a snorkel set?
