What is an ice fishing sled?

Ice fishing sleds are designed to carry all your necessary (and often heavy) ice fishing gear out to your fishing site with ease. These sleds are meant to glide over snow and ice with excellent control and stability, and come in a variety of sizes and to suit your individual needs.

Ice fishing sleds are most commonly made of tough, durable polyethylene, and are designed to withstand both heavy loads and rugged terrain.

How do you make an ice fishing sled easier to pull?

When ice fishing, the easiest way to make your sled easier to pull by hand is to lighten your load. If you’ll be pulling your sled through deeper snow, look for a model that features high side walls, as this makes your sled easier to pull, while ensuring your gear stays secured inside. Additionally, opt for a sled with runners underneath, which are designed to make pulling and towing easier, while protecting the bottom of your sled and therefore increasing its overall lifespan.
