Where do house numbers go on my house or mailbox?

Typically, house numbers are mounted close to your front door by your mailbox, but you can also mount them over your garage door. In rural areas, house numbers are often on mailboxes closer to the road. What's most important is that your house number is clearly visible for deliveries and guests.

How big should house numbers be?

House numbers should be big enough that they are easy to read from the street or road, so delivery people and guests can easily find you.

What tools do I need to install house numbers/letters and a mailbox?

You may need a drill and masonry bit to mount a mailbox or house numbers on your home. If mounting holes already exist, you'll want a screwdriver or drill. For a standard rural mailbox, you’ll need a sledge to drive the post securely into the ground, and screwdriver to attach a separate mailbox if required. Adhesive numbers are best for rural mailboxes and don’t require any tools.
