    Very Handy For the Money

I use this hatchet for a lot of jobs and really put it through its paces. It has a few dents and scratches but for what I put it through its held up pretty well. If you have a lot of work and cutting to do you might want a heaver axe but if you just want something around if you need it its definitely a good buy.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly

It is what it is. For the price it's a nice little, lightweight compact axe... will it fell a large tree.... no, but it cuts small branches for firewood just fine. Razor sharp too, was surprised how sharp for something out of the package. One drawback is the lack of a flat surface opposite the cutting edge for hammering, that would be a nice feature. Also the chisel tip is convenient if you need it, just not sure yet what you would use it for. The sheath is garbage, the stitching cut through within an hour of being jostled around, had to fix it with shoe-goo. The handle seems solid, well riveted with a hole for a lanyard, albeit quite a small hole, not sure what the material is. It's $29.00.... what do people expect?

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Useless

I bought this hatchet for thinner wood and I couldn't believe how quickly the blade bent. I had used it only on one trip and I can't ever use it again. What's worse is that the rating for this hatchet is a 3 when in reality it's garbage (in fairness, I guess you get what you pay for). Needless to say, lesson learned; I thought I was going to get a at least a mediocre product and was terribly wrong. Next time I will just stick to the wooden shaft that is SO identifiable and reputable.

No, I do not recommend this product.

    Axe broke in 20 Chops

I loved the Axe until I used it. After about 20 Chops the blade folded over. It was not there when I needed it and had to get wood by hand.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Really good axe for general outdoor use.

This axe is a really good axe for people who like outdoors and want a small, but effective axe for chopping wood, tree limbs, or even for use like a small machete. It come really sharp right out of the box, but it could be sharpened a little more if you are skilled at it. The handle is tightened on the "tang" of the blade, and it is really durable. It also is really comfortable to hold if you have small hands, but people who have big, meaty paws will not like the size of handle. I don't know what the little cutting blade at the top is used for, but the main blade is tough, and it holds it's edge pretty good. The sheath is nylon, but there is a kind of "tool rubber" inside to make sure it doesn't cut open if you put your tool too fast in it. There is a belt loop, but I don't put it because I don't like when it digs in my thigh when I sit on a log in front of my own fire that I made with this little axe in only 20 minutes (including cutting tree limbs, cutting a 6 inches tree for logs, and finding dry, dead leaves). Soon I will add a review on Youtube, so check it out on "theenglandguy" 's channel. Thanks for reading!

    Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: Where can I find replacement screws for the handle? One fell out the second time the axe was used. As this was bought for use with scouting trips I want the handle firmly secured for the safety of the youth. I can not find where to get a replacement screw/nut for the one that fell out.

Q: use of top little blade I've been using the axe for a while now and I still can't figure out the use of the top little blade. There is surely a purpose to it except to just be there risking cuting yourself on it every time you get it out of the holdster.
