Q: can i use it to repair small tear on CV joint boot?

    1 Answer
    • A: I don't think I'm qualified to answer this question as that's not what I used the repair kit for. However, what have you got to lose? Rubber is rubber and it's unlikely to hurt the CV boot. If it doesn't work you still have to have it changed out anyway.

Q: Does this rubber cement chemically melt the tire and patch rubbers together or is it just regular rubber cement? Regular rubber cement does not chemically melt rubbers together.

    1 Answer
    • A: The rubber cement does not melt the patch to the tire, in fact the patch is adhered to the tire through a vulcanization process (please see below for additional information regarding vulcanization) in the patch. Definition: Vulcanization or vulcanization is a chemical process for converting natural rubber or related polymers into more durable materials by the addition of curatives or accelerators. These additives modify the polymer by forming cross-links (bridges) between individual polymer chains. Vulcanized materials are less sticky and have superior mechanical properties.
