It doesn't clean the air lol

ok so the good: it doesnt get destroyed by hard water and leave white calcium deposits all over the house. it does a fair job at humidifying but does not have nearly the coverage it claims. the bad: absolute false advertizg that it cleans air. People think that because there a bunch of dirt and bugs etc in the tank when you clean and change the water, that this is evidence that it purifies. by this logic, and fan in the house, or even the fan in your computer is an air purifier by virtue of the dirt they collect. Nope. My TV stand and my home entertained equipment get pretty dusty too. does this mean they also purify? My tip to save money. dont bother with the cleaning solutions they want you to buy. Any cheap product made for any humidifier of the same class works just as well, and probably even better. Hint: read the ingredients of what Venta is selling and shake your head. its cheap ingredients with a brand name at about 20 times the price of the same generic stuff you can get anywhere. I do like my Venta very much as I have guitars that need 40% minimum humidity. But its wildly over priced, does not cover the area it claims does not purify air, oh, and the hygrometer reading over states humidity. get a third party hygrometer and place it next to the Venta. Ive tested against three different ones and the humidity is always a good 5 to 7% lower than what the Venta says.

Living in Maine, our gas Rinnai heaters, and our heat pumps run constantly to heat our home. This humidifier is a workhorse, and does a wonderful job at adding moisture into the air.

I have used this product for 20 years, extremely well made. Its really the only product out there that actually cleans the air. It will prevent that, winter dry skin. This is simply the best.
