    Handy 2 Way

Easy to use and very handy, however: a) cannot connect to weather stations as advertised; only the GMR3055-2CK and higher that can do that. b) the battery light doesn't stop flashing even after it's fully charged. c) the owner's manual doesn't say how many watts it transmits so I didn't know if it was legal to use without a license until I did more research. 4 stars, but barely

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Good budget friendly radios

For the price they are decent radios. Will not work very far over rough hilly terrain. Last three full days on a charge with the batteries they come with with being used fairly frequently

    Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: Use in USA. This may seem like a dumb question, but, can I use these anywhere including the USA?

    2 Answers
    • A: No, the radio cannot reach the Canadian GMRS repeater satellites while in the US, so range is limited to only a few BBQ's, but that's aboot it. Further the cheap aluminium in American beer cans forms a tuned circuit causing a signal shunting effect to ground there-by further limiting communications to 1 or two tail-gaters max range. Be sure to have your radios turned off when crossing the border as DeptHomelandSec. will scan your radios call-code transponder id number encrypted in your radios firmware and will track & record your communications as a foreign radio using the cell site towers, unless the clipper chip was disabled or prior to Ver. 1.0.4. For enhanced voice privacy be sure to enable the "hear-clear" function available for Motorola radios. Google it. Hope that answers your question.

Q: Why does the power indicator always show "lo"? I charge the battery 16 hours. But the radio always stay on "lo"--Low Power Indicatior. Is something wrong or I need to return it ? Thank you.

    2 Answers
    • A: Lo means low power transmission mode. It's not for the battery condition. In this mode, the battery will last longer, but you get a shorter range. You can always switch it in Hi for high power transmission mode in order to get more range. Hope this helps!!

Q: Will they also accept regular AA or AAA batteries?

    1 Answer
    • A: This includes 6 AA rechargeable NiMH batteries, one AC adapter/Y-Split micro USB charge cable. You may also use 3 AA non-rechargeable alkaline batteries in each radio. However, do not mix NiMH and alkaline batteries in the same radio.

Q: How long is battery life? I have friends visiting from the USA, and they can't use their cellphones due to international charges. How long will these walkie talkies last on a car ride if they are left on continuously idling during the ride?
