    Does not heat water regularly

I found this product to work only when it wanted to. The unit would only heat the water luke warm, if the water going into the unit was below room temperature! The batteries are expensive and have to be removed after each use(bulky). It would stop without warning and sometimes never worked!

No, I do not recommend this product.

    Hacked and Hot!

Many returns due to issues but be patient it can reward. As mentioned the bag is useless. Get a standard Reliance Water jug and screw in brass splicer 3/4 inch pipe male/garden hose male from HomeDepot into jug cap. The jug cap hole is very close to 3/4 pipe thread. Get brass garden hose female/0.5 inch OD tubing insert from Homedepot and stick into the clear tubing. Screw together. This heater needs water volume and the bag tap and a brass boiler tap I tried first kills water pressure. It needs 18" of height for sure. Water jug on picnic table and heater on the ground. There is no on/off tap-just tip water container up to stop water flow. To get hotter water, squeeze tubing near water inlet . I used a hose pincher from Princess Auto($8). Squeeze too much and the flame shuts off but just enough will make hotter water. It took me a week of hacking to figure this out. Now go out and get it on sale!

    Yes, I recommend this product.

Nous sommes déçû de ce produit. L'eau coule sans arrêt une fois le boyau connecté. Pas pratique du tout car on ne peut jamais fermer l'eau" Nous avons opté pour le coleman et sommes très content de notre choix.

    1 - 4 of 4 Questions

Q: Where can I purchase a propane fuel regulator for this water heater? This portable water heater requires a propane fuel regulator (it does not come with one) Unfortunately, no Canadian Tire stores seems to carry one that fits. Anyone know of where this part could be purchased?

Q: How much water can this heat and can you use a 20 lb propane tank instead of the 1 lb?

    • A: Yes, it comes with regulator. Get the right hose. One for direct to tank or one for a propane tree. Depending on what you are using.

Q: Can this be hooked up to a pressurized hose? Instead of having to use an elevated tank, can this unit be attached to a garden hose? I know the Coleman Hot Water on Demand could with an extra attachment. How does this unit compare with the Coleman version?

    1 Answer
    • A: Yes with plumbing stuff from Homedepot but too much water flow just makes cold water. There is no time for heating the water. I have not seen the coleman lately. It has a pump but has big battery for pump that needs charging. How do you charge at campsite? This unit is gravity fed. The D cell battery is only for lighting the propane. D cells are cheap and lasts for a while.
