    Very Impressed

I am a heavy coffee drinker and have tried a large number of coffee makers from the most simple and in-expensive to the above average consumer grade triple digit expensive. THIS coffee maker has lasted longer than any other I have tried. Today the hotplate refused to warm up after almost 5 years of faithful service. Today I am heading back to CT to purchase a new one. Cost for MTTF is unbeatable! Quality at this price is rare in these modern times!

    Yes, I recommend this product.

The Coffee Maker that keeps on going !!

This is the best little coffee maker I have ever had. It had been through camping trips, cottage life and emergency back up at home. Which I have had to use several time when my home coffee maker died. You can't beat the price, it's easy to use, easy to clean and is definitely budget friendly. Love my little coffee maker that just won't die !!

    Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: What is the Filter Type? Usually a Letter.

    3 Answers
    • A: This is a basket-type filter. Any of the generic permanent basket filters (10-12cup) that CT sells will work in this machine. For paper filters, I have yet to find a brand or generic basket type that does not fit this machine.

Q: Can you see how much water to use in the reservoir?

    3 Answers
    • A: You can not see from the outside with the lid closed. It does have a marking for fill level on the inside-left of the reservoir. It also has a hole in the back for overflow, but it will drip onto your counter if you overflow. In my experience, it is hard to overflow the reservoir because when you fill it to the marked line it actually 'seems' like there may be too much water in there.

Q: Is it with permanent filter?

    • A: The unit does not come with a permanent filter, nor does it include any "introductory" paper filters. Best pick up a stack of paper filters with the machine.

Q: Am I supposed to turn off the switch right after the water in the reservoir is emptied? I know I should switch off myself as it doesn't have automatic timer. But should this switching off be done immediately after all the water has been poured from the reservoir to the carafe? Or can I leave it turned on for an hour or two may be?

    • A: The hotplate stays warm as long as the switch is ON. So if you want your coffee to stay warm, leave the switch on. Only turn it off when you want the hotplate OFF.
