Great camera for decent price

despite its slow trigger speed and 6mp pictures this camera is great. I bought it on clearance and so far I'm pretty impressed with it. If your looking for a camera that will work and don't care to much about photo quality then this camera is more than perfect for you.

Slow off the mark

Have had this camera for about a week and will be returning it. the trigger speed is too long/slow and there is no way to change it. the result is a lot of pictures of nothing. Target triggers camera but has time to walk out of view before the shot is taken.
Use would have to be limited to objects walking perpendicular to the camera and staying in the filed of view long enough for a picture to be taken.
Picture quality is good, IR works, but the combination comes up short.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: I presume this is motion activated. At what distance will movement activate it?

A: On average the sensors pick up heat and movement at a distance of 50 to 60 feet depended on the size of the animal.

A: trigger speed of the STC-P12 is 1.4 seconds.

Q: Can you program the camera to only be active for certain times i.e. just night time only and not record or take pics during day time?

A: The P series cameras do not have this ability to have your " activity scheduled" as it is our price point camera, our other series cameras do have this ability.

Q: Invisible flash Does the LED flash red when taking a picture in the dark?

A: Yes there is a soft red glow for a split second that illuminates when it is taking a picture.

Q: How low can the temperature go before they stop working? It frequently gets down to minus-30C and even lower here, at what point does the camera stop working?

A: It'll be based on your battery more than your camera. Regular alkaline batteries quit working from what I recall around -10C, they freeze up and no more power... if you want -30C best get a adapter and put a good operating lead acid car battery connected to the camera. They don't have alot of current draw so even a car battery at -30C should give enough power to operate for quite awhile. Maybe even consider a solar charger to help extend the field time if you don't want to go out checking it regularly
