Roomy tent keeps you dry.

This tent has gotten us through many rain storms and is roomy enough that we were fairly comfortable after many hours stuck inside. We were even able to keep my sister's dog dry in his kennel in the front vestibule. That part itself is great for hiding a drink cooler, or keeping shoes, firewood or other items out of the rain/and out of the actual tent. The only other thing I would say is this tent is definitely for car camping only since it is quite heavy.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Awesome Tent!

Hubby and I bought this tent to replace my old one that wasn't-so-waterproof, and we LOVE it! Easy set up, roomy for 2, and we can even fit an air mattress in! We love the shoe pockets, the ventillation system, and how well it maintains a good temperature (cooler inside when it's hot outside, and warmer inside on cold nights!). Great tent!

Yes, I recommend this product.

  • Holds up great in the mountians!

Awesome Family Tent

I am so pleased with this tent! We are a family of 4 with grade-school-aged children. So far we have used the Roots Barron for car-camping, but will transition to backcountry camping... I am confident this tent will be very portable. The vestibule is amazingly spacious; front door and back door are a bonus. Set up takes about 10-15 minutes; can be done by one person, but, definitely easier with two. Highly recommend for families like ours who aspire to canoe trip with their kids.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Versatile tent

The Roots Barron tent is very versatile and durable. The vestibule adds the extra bit of privacy and space while and shoe storage holes are add extra convenience and help keep the dirt on the outside. The extra door on the back side helps when you have to go out at night so you don't have to crawl over everyone to get out....and the weatherproof window flaps built into the fly help keep the tent airy when open and dry when closed. Some other tents have windows in the tents, but not on the fly so when the fly is on, it feels a bit stuffy...not so with the Barron.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: Is the vestibule detachable? Is there a way to set up the fly without the full vestibule?

  • A: The vestible is fully attached and not removable. It wouldn't work well in the rain if the vestible wasn't set up.

Q: There are two grommets provided on each side of the tent and fly.The poles should go into the grommet near the tent or the outer one? I am not able to to insert the fly pole in the inner grommet . I am only able to flex the fly pole and insert the pole in the outer grommets on each side of the fly. Is this normal? Why is it not going in the inner grommet?
