I am extremely disappointed that CTC has discontinued stocking this product. I have been using it as long as I can remember. It works very well, is environmentally friendly and is affordable.

    Questions

    1 - 6 of 6 Questions

Q: Can Releasall Lubricant be used to coat disc brakes to eliminate loud brake squeal? I have new front discs and pads that squeal loud when coming to a slow stop. There wasn't any products available in the store for the sole purpose of stopping brake squeal. Will the brakes heat up too much for this product?

    2 Answers
    • A: Sorry, no. Putting an oil like this on disc brakes will contaminate the pads and interfere with proper stopping. Brake squeal can be a pain to deal with. Usually it comes down to the material the pads are made of, or sometimes deposits on the rotors. Try thoroughly cleaning the rotors and pads with a brake-cleaning solvent first. If that doesn't help, you might need to change pad material. There are 3 basic types of pad: metallic, semi-metallic, and ceramic. Semi-metallic are usually the noisiest-- ceramic is more expensive but quieter in my experience and brakes well.

Q: Is this product made by Target? And is it the same product as the old releasall that you use to buy by the 500ml tins?

    1 Answer
    • A: ORAPI bought TARGET RELEASALL in 1998 The vendor manufactured the old Releasall in 500 ml tin. Canadian Tire distributes the same product (38-1530) only in a spray can with a different design on the can.

Q: will this stain my red brick patio? I spilled this stuff on my red brick patio yesterday and then sprayed the whole thing down with the hose. Today there are dark patches where it was spilled. Will this eventually fade or is the brick now stained?
