A beauty that deserves respect

This is a slightly dumbed down version of the Elie Strait 140 kayak. It's made by Elie, but doesn't have as nice a seat or trimmings. All in all, the Elie and this kayak are exceptional boats for the price. Way more features, lighter and stronger than big specialty brands. It tracks straight, shoots out of the hole like a race car, turns incredibly with fantastic secondary stability! If you're looking at big name boats, don't get sucked in by kayak snobs. This will out perform almost anything costing hundreds more. The material is the sweet spot between mainstream rotomold and overpriced thermoformed kayaks.

Q: is the rudder control and foot rest separate?

A: The rudder on the Chase 140X is connected to the footrests by a cable on either side. The direction of the rudder is controled by the movment from the footrests. Hope this helps.
