Do not fall for Zwilling’s marketing. My knife rusted in less than a year. Zwilling’s answer is that that happens as a result of exposure to water, grease or salt. I, like almost all of you, have had stainless steel items in my kitchen, such as spoons and forks, that have not rusted by exposure to water, salt or grease.

Great knife block set for the money!

I got this knife block set on clearance, but even if I didn't, it's still a very high quality knife block. And the knives are great too! Henckels are good knives, so all you really need is a good quality cutting board to pair them with and they should last a while in the knife block (especially since it self-sharpens the knives too!). I'm pretty satisfied with my purchase - it's just a good knife block set for the price.

Stylish looking but thin steel

This set looks great. The knives have stylish handles and the attractive sharpening block keeps most of the blades sharp. Only flat blade knives are sharpened. Sharpening works well with blades staying very sharp. My only complaint is the thickness of the steel which is thin compared to other good brands. It makes the blades very flexible and they will naturally wear faster from the sharpening. Overall a good knife set for the price.
