Broken handle piece

Don’t buy plastic handles. Knife is good, end piece of handle plastic broke from river. Hand washed only, taken care of, but broke during cutting.

Q: Why is there an extra slot left on the block? There is 13 knives and the block is the 14th piece. However with the one slot left open, it doesn't look right and appears a knife is missing. Why would this be?

A: We wondered the same thing. It looks like the manufacturer uses the same block for more than one set, and this set happens not to use the extra slot.

Q: Are these knives dishwasher safe? I see nothing in the description to indicate either way. We purchased a full set of knives 18 months ago from Canadian Tire but they are driving me nuts because I have to hand wash them. They were from a different manufacturer.

A: Hello, High carbon is a type of stainless steel. I high content in carbon in stainless steel makes it harder. Therefore, the knife should stay sharp longer. Hope it helps

Q: I bought this and on the box it says 14 pieces but when I opened the box there are only 13. Funny part is that according to the box, I have all the pieces I need but it only adds up to 13 not 14... I now have an empty knife slot on the block. Normal???

A: The 14th piece of this set is the block, this is typically how pieces are counted for knife blocks.

Q: Where are these made? The box says they are made in China but the description talks about Germany. Also, the description claims they are forged but Henckels website states that they are stamped.
