This is a fine heater, easy to install and works as expected only thing when converted to propane we could only get 38000 btu from it not the intended 50k, it does the job it looks good and the price was right

4" single wall isn't compatible with the B vent large gaps b vent needs to be run upside down to even come close to working with the single wall pipe the elbow is also single wall terrible kit

Q: Recently purchased Heat Star vertical vent kit, installed, cranked up heater and to my liking the double walled pipe going through roof in my garage seems to get way too hot.

A: Thank you for your inquiry. The exhaust coming out of the back of an MHU unit is an average of 400 degrees, which means that the venting (especially near the heater) is going to get very hot. As long as the heater is vented in line with local codes, there should be no risk of any issue.
