Not sure if this tool measures accurately.

I bought this to test my garden soil. No matter where I tested in my yard, even under an evergreen tree, the soil type came out as alkaline. I went to my local garden Center and spoke to a long time resident and horticulturalist about how to change the soil type. He told me he would be extremely surprised if my soil everywhere in my yard was alkaline as the soil in this area (and on most of the island) is neutral to slightly acidic. As I have not tested my soil using any other means, I cannot for sure say that the device was wrong, but the uncertainty and fact I would need to spend additional money to buy a different type of soil measuring tool was frustrating.
