Ordered on line- picked up in Ingersoll but discovered door was missing - returned to store, they couldn’t find it - manager was to call me Monday- I called Thursday- still not resolved - I was told to call back in a week. This item is not for me but for our neighbour - the delay is troublesome as the weather is getting more difficult to replace his old item. Clerks/ staff have been great but I don’t think I will order online again.

A: The bottom of the composter is open. It's meant to sit directly on the ground. So anything you put in it will land on the ground. If you could put some kind of a bottom on the composter, then it might work for you. But over time it will get heavy which possibly could be an issue. I would not recommend putting it on a balcony.

Q: Your description says the composter has a capacity of 11 cu. ft. In your detailed specs the capacity is 11 cubic metres. Who has enough room for such a large composter?! I am looking for extra large but not mammoth! What is the size?

Q: Is it supposed to have the cover for the front, I just bought mine this morning and was told no it’s supposed to be open but the picture shows a cover on the front, is that an extra you buy separately? Also didn’t come with instructions as description!

A: This composter has a large open bottom that is intended to have contact with the ground so that microbes can enter, which help break the compost down. But, you don't want rodents getting in, so I put a metal mesh screen with 1/2" gaps on the ground first and set the composter on that. Use the pegs to secure it to the ground. The screen on the bottom prevents rodents from going in through the bottom.

A: Bones are difficult to compost, regardless of the composter. If you just stick to plant material (no fat or bones) and turn the compost materials frequently, I'm sure that you'll be satisfied with the results.
