Q: Can this be safely used with a portable room air conditioner?

A: Without knowing what make of portable air conditioner you have I am going with the assumption that it is for residential use. This would mean that it is a standard 120 volt appliance meant to plug into a standard 120 volt/ 15 amp receptacle. In that case any extension cord you can buy, say from Canadian Tire for example, that is 14 gauge or heavier will be perfectly safe. The cabling in your home delivering the electricity to the outlet will be 14 gauge, so an extension cord of a minimum 14 gauge is all you require. The shorter the better to avoid trip hazards.

A: It's wording is: Certified to CSA Std C22.... This is on a vinyl sticker that's attached to the male end of the plugs.

A: Well since it's a heavy-duty extension cord, it can be hard to manipulate on any day. That being said the extension cord works flawlessly, never had an issue! Highly recommend !

Q: This cable is listed as #10/3. But..... is it ten gauge copper? Aluminum is sometimes substituted as a cheaper alternative but is not good enough for a quality generator cable.
