Q: What is the level of UVA and UVB? Is safe to have my canaries in a room where I use these bulbs?

  • A: In the same room is probably OK but probably not directly under the light. I've had a lot of skin cancer and my dermatologist told me not to have plants under grow lights next to the desk where I work all day.

Q: What is the difference between this one and the BR30 light bulb? The lumens are the same and the wattage is pretty close.

2 Answers
  • A: The colour spectrum skews more toward red and blue, which are the preferred wavelengths for plants (plants reflect back the green wavelength instead of absorbing it, which is why most plants look green to our eyes)

Q: Can i use this bulb for seedling? If so, how much coverage does one bulb have?

1 Answer
  • A: I have three over a small table with maybe 50 seedlings in 4" pots on it. The lights are about 18" above the table, which is also in a bright window. It seems that vegetable seedlings would always prefer even more light, but everything's doing well.
