Braun 14-Cup Coffee Maker

It's impossible to set the clock. We tried pushing the clock button softly and hard, sliding finger over area. Nothing. The only thing we got was a sore finger. We haven't tried to program since the clock can't be set up.

This coffee maker is reliable! It brews coffee as it should. However - I especially love the Auto On feature as it automatically brews coffee in the morning, so when I get out of bed the coffee is ready! I haven't tried the iced coffee feature yet as I don't really drink iced coffee in winter, but I'm looking forward to using it when the weather becomes warmer :)

Believe every negative comment about this coffeemaker! They are all honest reviews! The programming is ridiculous, and temperamental, working whenever it chooses to. The heating plate will rust out within the first two weeks, garanteed, because the unit leaks constantly! It’s like the pot and the drip piece aren’t aligned properly. You cannot pour water into the holding tank without it dripping as the pouring lip on the carafe is poorly made. I purchased more filters, and they do make the coffee smoother. At first the unit kept my coffee very hot, but not any more. I have only had this coffeemaker for 6 months and the last few days it decided to just brew my coffee and then automatically shut off. I have never had a more problematic coffeemaker in my life, and I am a serious coffee lover! If this unit wasn’t under warranty for five years, I would return it and never go near it again. It actually frightens me to think that it might start on fire one day on its own because it has so many issues. The only reason I purchased this particular coffee maker was the brand name and the number of watts it heated to. Both are huge disappointments. Because the coffee flavour is descent I gave it 2 stars, the unit itself doesn't rate more than a 1. I tried to included a video showing the steam created by the water that leaks onto the heating element and the sizzling sound the leaking water makes, plus the condensation that goes into the air as a result. It almost sounds like I’m deep frying my coffee. For some reason I wasn’t given the link to attach the video.

O really like this coffee maker. It’s the second one of this model we have purchased because we though there was a design flaw in the first one - the water would often overflow the filter because the coffee dripped so slowly from the basket when using paper filters. We switched to using the supplied permanent filter and it they both work fine now. The controls are a little tricky to figure out (setting time, warming plate temp, etc) but once you get used to it it’s not bad. I love that the lid on the coffee pot is hinged, that I can make 14 cups of coffee, and that the coffee it brews tastes great.
