Keeps ice a long time

Works well. Makes lots of ice as needed and keeps it for much longer then the ice machine its replacing. We had an old ice machine and the lid was very thin so the ice always melted quickly. So far this ice maker is keeping oce longer and making ice quicker then the previous one we had so i would consider it a good purchasd.

Makes ice quickly

Noisy and the ice is wet. Good to use immediately but freezes into a block if you want to stock up.

The ice storage area is not refrigerated. It is intended that ice produced be periodically transferred to zipperlock bags for storage in a conventional freezer.
To make firmer/larger/drier ice, use colder water. Tip, let the first couple of batches of ice fall into the water reservoir to chill the water. CurtisInt
