Q: what is the temperature of the water when the kettle finishes boiling?

A: Water only boils at one temperature. Actually, it varies a tiny bit depending on what altitude you're at but at sea level the boiling temperature is 100C or 212F. Water will boil at a very slightly lower temperature at higher altitudes but still the temperature at boiling is close enough to 100C to call it that at most altitudes.

Q: There are 3 red plastic tabs inside the kettle itself. I'm not sure what purpose they serve. Being made of plastic I wondered if they could melt over time because of the boiling hot water?

A: They can be set to measure 1,2 or 3 cups of water for quicker boiling. So your not boiling more than you need. I have owned a few of these and have never used them. Repeatedly boiled and they have never melted or caused a negative issue. You can goggle the pot and it has a pic and explanation of the Red Tabs...

Q: can I remove the internal water level indicator (the red plastic part) when I boil water in the kettle? I am concerned with the plastic part - it does not seem to be bpa free.

A: I suggest you get in touch with the manufacturer.. Not some random person who just happened to buy kettle. I have no Idea why you would remove a safety devise. As for pollutants in you life, I wouldn't worry about one little red thing. I d be more worried about the micro plastics in the water, air and food.

A: Paul, I am not sure what you consider quiet. The kettle sounds like water boiling. If you boiled a pot of water, same sound. No whistle. I don’t like annoying sounds and this kettle hasn’t bothered me. I like this kettle and I use it daily. Side note: my cats don’t hate it.

Q: Just purchased a stainless steel eclectic kettle. KE3100SKT. Just discovered a internal water level feature with three plastic tabs. No mention anywhere that it is BPA free. Not good. Can it be removed?

Q: I currently own the KE1700SD which has the red water level tabs inside. I don’t like the idea of plastic sitting in boiling water. I have tried removing these tabs unsuccessfully. I want to know if the KE3100SKT has these tabs.

A: The KE3100SKT does have the red tabs; however, they do not indicate water level. Rather that is the shut off mechanism.
