It's an electric kettle for heaven's sake, and it works as iot should. It has three useless silicone tabs on the inside (water level guuides), and it does not have a light to show the power has been turned on. But for what I paid, won't complan but I did drop a star. The cordless nature is a plus, but in this day and age that is pretty standard. So all in all, it is a good,working product. The lid is a little hard to remove if you have arthritis.

It is a good kettle, great size, heats fast and stay heated for a while when it is shut off. However, it not smudge-free and I constantly have to remind myself not to touch the body with my fingers. It is a bit loud when it is boiling.

Q: Be ware: 3 red plastic discs attached to the inside of the kettle near the bottom, so you boil water with plastic. Even if it is PCB free, boiled water with plastic must still contain trace plastic particles. Poor design

Q: Good day, just receive the kettle KE1700SD was somehow surprised that there is some red plastic plastic levels inside. We are are not too keen to boil water with those red levels inside. Are the Black and Decker kettle have these red levels inside ?
