Q: It says there's a Minimum Window Opening Width of 26.77 in? why? My window is 21 in wide, does that mean I cant use this??

A: It Velcros on, my window was 21 inches and I could adapt it to fit.

Q: The product features list says “Lasts between 6-12 months.” What does that mean exactly? Is it a seasonal installation that you have to destroy to “uninstall” when the weather cools down?

A: It has a roll of adhesive Velcro that stays on year-round. You can still close the window with this on. But you probably want to in-Velcro in over the winter.

Q: Can this be used for any brand of portable AC? What are the max dimensions this will fit?

A: Yes. Doesn't matter the size of unit. Or really the windows. Mine is pretty tall and there was lots of extra product available. I used gorilla tape to secure it well

Q: For casemate windows that open on the outside (like in posted picture) why isn’t the seal placed on the interior window frame (where the bugscreen is)? Instead its sealed to the outward open window ?

A: The window casement seal is designed for outward opening windows. The shape is irregular and the intended purpose is to seal the air gaps but to allow the light in from the window and visibility outward. If sealed on the interior frame (where the bugscreen is), there will be gaps and the seal won't be great due to the irregular shape. If the shape was designed square for use on the interior frame, it would block the light and view out of the window (which is it's intended purpose).

Q: Could you please clarify the dimensions? The remaining opening I have in my horizontal window between the screen & the hose fitting is 26.5" L x 10.5" H. Thanks!

A: Firstly, to clarify— this kit is for casement (swing-open) windows not sliding windows. Secondly, the way they measure these kits is via window perimeter—not sure what's up with the product description, but on the box (not shown), the max your window perimeter (all four sides added up) can be is 157.5" or 400 cm. Smaller windows than that are okay, larger are not. YouTube the "Hoomee Casement Window Kit Installation" because the instructions suck.
