Terrible. If planned obsolescence has a name it is Oster ! First time I used it, it broke in more than one way.

Je l'ai reçu en cadeau mais n'ai pu l'utiliser bien souvent, le mélangeur à main seulement mais les accessoires... on oublie! Brisé en moins de deux. Je l'aurais bien réparé mais tout est en petit plastique

Broke RIGHT After Warrantee Expired!

I purchased this May 3rd 2021. I use this appliance maybe once every few weeks. Just a week ago (today is June 1st 2022), the "high speed" button stopped working. Also the chopper top sticks all of the time and is nearly impossible to remove if there are wet ingredients in it. CT will not give leeway on the 1 year exchange policy so I'm stuck with a mediocre product. They don't make them like they used to that's for sure.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: Why is the upper and lower part of the hand blender not locking together ?

A: Thank you for contacting the Oster ® Brand. We appreciate your time and effort for bringing this to our attention. We are sorry to hear that the Oster® Immersion Blender Set did not exceed your expectations and that the upper and lower parts are not locking together. This is certainly not the experience we want you to have. No worries, we are here to help. Your hand blender is a two-part assembly. The upper part contains the motor housing and the speed buttons. The lower part contains the beater shaft/ blade housing. For a possible fix, please hold the motor housing in the right hand and the beater shaft/ blade housing in the left. Attach the motor housing up to the beater shaft/ blade housing. Rotate the motor housing to the left. The assembly will lock firmly. Your hand blender has a 1 year limited warranty. If this doesn't resolve your issue, we'd like to kindly request that you contact us directly in order to help you get to the best resolution. Have a good day!

Q: I heard claims that the 3rd generation of this Oster product has both its drive and high friction parts made of metal. In comparison, the 1st & 2nd generations were a mix of poor quality plastic & metal. Is this product #043-1249-2 the 3rd generation?

Q: Can this blender be used in hot liquids?

A: Yes, not a problem. But if it's boiling, do take the pot off the heat because the contents will splatter and burn you. May also splatter if you hold the blender at an angle instead of vertical.

A: Thank you for asking! The accessories are not dishwasher safe. After using your hand blender, the blades, mixing cup and/or chopper bowl may be washed by hand with mild soap and water. Handle it carefully since the blades are sharp. Make sure all parts are completely dry before attempting to use again.

Q: Can you mash potatoes with this??

A hand blender (immersion blender) will release too much starch from the potatoes and result in heavy and gummy mashed potatoes. When you use a hand mixer, you can whip in much more liquid and fat without releasing too much starch from the potatoes. It also results in a very smooth and creamy texture.
