    A basic bar

    I have used this but just recently went out and spent just a little more and got a power surger with a rechargeable battery that keeps the power to my computer on if there is a power failure which we have in our area - worth getting that one instead.

    No, I do not recommend this product.

    Q: What level of surge protection? Currently the description does not list the level of surge protection this protector furnishes. Cheap surge protectors can handle surges of about 100 joules. What does this one provide?

    Q: So, does it fail-safe, or fail dangerous? Surge protectors can protect against one big surge. Hi-quality surge protectors fail-safe -- when they can no longer provide protection they don't work at all. Does this one fail-safe?

    • A: If the power bar experiences a a significant electrical surge, the power bar will stop functioning. It is designed to stop functioning so you cannot use it when it can no longer protect your equipment against electrical surges.
