Load your boat or ATV easily with a MotoMaster 1,800-lb 2-Way Trailer Winch. This two-way, single-speed winch features a heavy-duty cross shaft to maintain ratchet alignment under heavy loads, and the two-way ratchet can be fed on top of or under the drum. This metal winch has high-carbon steel gears that resist wear and drilled winch drums for use with winch straps. With a zinc-plated finish for superior corrosion resistance even in salt water, the gear winch has a weight capacity of 1,800 lbs.

Q: How do you attach the winch strap?
7 years agoA: The trailer winch has two different mounting options. If you decide to use a steel cable there is a mounting point on the side of the drum. If you use a strap there is a pre drilled bolt hole that you can thread a bolt through and secure with a lock nut. The specific directions are described in greater detail in the user manual provided with your unit.

Q: Does this item come with the winch strap or is it empty? Can this item be attached to a piece of 2 x 6 inch board and attached to the back of my front seat in order to manually winch in to my car my medical scooter?
7 years agoA: Unfortunately, we do not recommend this winch for any other application than its intended use. Given the configuration and design of the winch, it is meant to be used with vehicles not carrying any occupants, as vehicles should never be loaded with people onboard. Given you would like to use this with a scooter, you would have to visit a medical supply store to get the correct product to assist in loading and unloading your medical scooter.

Q: I would like to use this winch as a hoist. Will it raise and lower a weight or does it only freewheel in one direction?
9 years agoA: This winch has two-way operation with free spool. It will ratchet a load both in and out, with a centre free spool operation (no clutch engagement). However, this winch is not intended to be used to “hoist” a vertical load. Doing so is unsafe and will void any warranty as the load capacity indicated is for line pull and not bearing load. Additionally, the clutch cannot switch between In and Out operations without passing through free spool where you will lose your load due to gravity pull on the line.

Q: Will this work with rope in place of strap. I have hung my canoe and want to use this to hoist it up and down
10 years agoA: This 1,800lb 2-Way Trailer winch is meant to be used with either an aircraft cable or a 2” winch strap. It is not recommended to be used with rope as it will drastically decrease the capacity of the winch. If you would like to purchase a Rope Pulley system, please visit your local Canadian Tire store for a selection that will fit your need.

10 years agoA: This trailer winch is not supplied with mounting hardware or a winch strap. You will require u-bolts for mounting, which can be found in the same aisle at your local Canadian Tire.

Q: Quel est l'avantage d'un treuil 2 voies par rapport à 1 voie? J'hésite entre le treuil 1800 lbs et celui de 2500 lbs car il est indiqué que celui de 1800 lbs est 2 voies et pas l'autres. Merci.
