The MK 12-Volt 12 Ah Battery is a rechargeable Sealed Lead Acid (SLA) battery with a nominal voltage of 12 and a 20-hour amp hour capacity of 12. Featuring AGM battery technology, it is non-spillable and non-gassing. It is suitable for cyclical or standby applications such as alarms, UPS, electric wheelchairs, and more. Battery is junk

I bought this same battery about a year and a half ago. It is the only one that fit my generator correctly. These batteries have a one year warranty. After less that a year a half the battery stopped working even though I had it on a battery maintainer the whole time. I contacted the Canadian Distributor and complained about the poor quality and he said there is nothing he can go for me and that I had to contact Canadian Tire. I contacted Canadian Tire and they said that "Because it was past the warranty that there was nothing they could do for me as well." On the manufacturers website they advertise this battery as: "a quality, reliable battery for less". If their version of quality is lasting less than a year a half then I guess we see there true colors. Because this battery came with the generator originally and fit the opening perfectly I was forced to buy another of these poor quality batteries. (Hopefully it will last longer that the last one). You would think that when buying a new battery at Canadian Tire you would expect it to last more than a year and a half. Shame on MK for making this poor quality product and advertising it as a quality product and shame on Canadian Tire for selling this junk. If I didn't have to buy this battery to fit my generator I would never buy this battery again.

Q: I just bought battery brand new , How long are you suppose to charge it for ? Befor use or After used ? ( is it bad to use till battery dies then to charge battery /or befor it completely dies ? And for how long to charge in ether case ? ) Thanks

A: Lead acid batteries are not recommended to use them until are fully discharged, and I guess you charge them until are charged or your charger shows the green light.

A: Given the rather small size (capacity) of this battery, you should look for a charger no more than 1.5A. Consider Battery Tender model 11-1940 or either of NOCO Genius models 11-1925 or 11-1926. All three of these are smart chargers which will automatically turn off when the battery is fully charged and they can safely be left connected to maintain the battery when not in use.

Q: Could I have this battery sitting inside my tractor cab to power a portable heater/fan?

A: sorry, but heaters often take many watts of power. this battery could maybe output 5 to 7 amps at 12 volts continuously for about 1 hour, maybe 2 this means 5 amps times 12 volts = a 12 volt, 60 watt heater most heaters are 500 watts or 1000 watts or 1500 watts, check your label. i have 4 of these batteries (connected in series) in my 48 volt electric scooter. it has a 48 volt, 350 watt motor and runs for over 1 hour but less then 2 hours CAUTUION: use these batteries only as they are intended

A: That's exactly what powers the Mototec 2000W/48V scooter, so yes. As previously mentioned, if you have the space, you could also go with higher Ah capacity SLA batteries for longer ride times and/or greater cycle life.

A: This battery has type F2 terminals. The F2 terminals are 0.25" (6.35 mm) wide and 0.03" (0.8 mm) thick, with an overall length of 0.313" (7.95 mm).

Q: Is this battery powerful enough to attach to a 50W solar panel and power Christmas lights?

A: The answer all depends on how much the lights draw and how long you need them to run for. Directionally-speaking, this battery is likely too small (does not have enough capacity) to power a full array of lights and/or for hours at a time. For example, it could probably run five strings of 5W (each) LED lights for about 2 hours (before being discharged 50%). Again, it all depends on the size of your load and the amount of time you want it to run.

A: We recommend a fully automatic low-amperage 12V charger such as Battery Tender Jr (011-1940) or Plus (011-1941) or any of NOCO Genius G750, G1100 or G3500 (011-1925, 011-1926 and 011-1927 respectively).

Q: Can I use this to power a 12v pump for inflatable kayaks? specifically the bravo btp 12v dump action pump

A: We would need you to supply the pump’s power consumption specification (usually on a label on the product) to say with certainty but directionally, yes, this battery should easily give you sufficient power/run time for an inflator pump. Don’t forget pick up a small charger to fully recharge your battery after each use.
