Filled with tiny flies!

I bought 2 bags of this soil from 2 different CT locations. Same issues for both. When I opened the bags, ALOT of tiny flies came and out and before I could contain them all my indoor plants became infested with them. WHAT A NIGHTMARE. They are not easy to get rid of and mulitply quickly. I will never buy this soil again. I had to throw out alot of good plants. Beyond disappointed.

It should not be used when planting in containers, but should be mixed in a 50/50 ratio with native soil. Garden soils are too strong and heavy for plants grown in containers and with time can restrict growth and plant development. Our soils are not sterilized or treated with insecticides to control insects. While the composting process kills insects and their eggs, bags can become infested after bagging. Full of bugs

I used this soil for my prized yellow tomato seedlings last spring, which I started from seed, and a few days later I noticed tiny bugs around my plants. These bugs were devouring my little seedlings, and multiplying very quickly! After watching my plants being chewed alive for a few days, I went out and bought some regular cheap indoor potting soil and repotted what was left. I managed to save 4 out of 12 of my seedlings. I contacted Miracle Grow about this and they said this was normal for organic soil, and offered to send me a coupon. But I declined, as I will never buy Miracle Grow soil again.

Yay! Organic!

I am very happy to see an assortment of organic soils available at Canadian Tire. The Miracle Grow Organic Choice Soil was used for our vegetable and herb gardens as well as flowering pots and baskets. The garden is doing great! Healthy and lush.

OutStanding Final Results

Used the Miracle Grow Organics Soil for my vegetables in 2012. Used it just as the bag says, for IN-Ground ( OUTSIDE) Vegetables and Flowers. My Tomatoes were 4 weeks earlier, I was completely floored with the size baseball size tomatoes, I live in Yellowknife, NT. where there is very little natural soil ( we have only Peat & Muskeg) and can confidently say this is the best soil on the market.
