    great little antenna but

Great little antenna and for the price it far out -performed the most expensive one from RCA. However the coax cable to connect the antenna to the TV was too short for my needs and I had to try several others. Cable length is good if the antenna is going to sit right beside the TV. After several buys and returns I ended up spending $45.00 more to get one that performed as well and came with the extra length of coax cable I needed.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Happy with my purchase

I live in downtown Toronto, in a third floor condo. I plugged it in, scanned for channels and got 10 and that was with it on the floor. I moved it closer to the window and got 2 more. The picture quality on some channels is better than I had on cable. My only complaint is that the cable isn't long enough to try different positions in the room.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Works great!

Although the packaging looks different, the contents look the same, made by GE. I was very skeptical, but bought this model and the higher priced one, with the signal booster. Tried them both and I am keeping the basic one without the booster. Living near Edmonton, we can pick up 6 channels in total, alhtough 2 are not in English, so that leaves 4. My TV only picked up 2 channels on the "auto channel search". Went to a site called "TV Fool", where you can determine how many channels you should be able to pull up just by entering your address. It listed 6 that should be available with an indoor antenna. I had to manually enter the channel numbers to get all 6, and with a bit of adjusting, they all work good. All HD, some in 720p and some in 1080. Great picture. Note: when doing a manual search for channels, use the numbers that the "TV Fool" site gives you, and you must remember to add the dash one (-1) to the channel number. Otherwise they won't show up. I am so happy to be able to pick up local channels in HD, for free! Also, if you are more than 20 miles away from the TV towers, these indoor antennas probably won't work.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

I still cannot get all the over the air channels that I should be able to, but I can get a few. Don't think it is the antenna, but rather where I live.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

got more with a simple dipole antenna

I could only get 5 stations at my location (Woodstock) with this antenna. I hooked up a dipole antenna that I got with an old receiver. I picked up 6 station with this set up and had a stronger signal. I wouldn't waste my money on this unit.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Oscar1591, every antenna is going to have a maximum range they can receive signals from. Your old dipole antenna may be able to receive signals from a longer range than this one. Jasco Products Tech Support (Manufacturer)JascoTechSupport

    Questions

    1 - 6 of 6 Questions

Q: Does this work for HDTV's only? I have an older analog tv set that I purchased a digital converter box for. Will this antenna work with that as well?

    • A: This will work with any type of TV, as long as the TV has a coax input. Since there are no analog signals anymore this antenna is designed to receive the digital signals that are being broadcast by the TV stations now. The converter box will convert the signals to analog so the TV can broadcast them. Jasco Products Tech Suport(Manufacturer)

Q: How close to a window should this antenna be placed?

    • A: Proximity to the window doesn't seem to make any difference. Elevation is important. I placed mine next to a patio door and I couldn't get many stations but when I moved it on top of the TV (about 3-4 feet higher) most stations came in perfectly.

Q: Cable is too short... Is there a way to buy an extension cable? Millennium HDTV Antenna Product #45-2805-8

    • A: Sure, just need an adaptor. Screw the adaptor end onto your antenna cable end, the other to the RG6 cable (I just bought 15 feet). The adaptor 2 pack. Also available at Canadian tire. If you get cable needing to be too long, that's when you may need to get into an amplified signal if your current antenna signal becomes too weak because of the distance.

    • A: Depends on the range from the broadcast source. This antenna is not a high range model and is generally intended for urban/suburban areas.
