Purchased on sale. Gauge of metal was lighter than expected but once assembled is rigid enough. The feet are easily adjustable to level but their floating design allows the table to move slightly. Would be better fitted with lockable wheels. Not a bad work surface but not for heavy duty work. The wood top is excellent quality and I can see why some people use it for an office work station. Assembly was easy but you have to be careful not to over torque. A decent by at the sale price.

Q: Is it possible to mount the cross member on the short bars in the center so you can use this as a bar table and people can put their feet on them which would then run down the center of the bench instead of at the back? I can't tell from the pictures.

A: No, this is not an option. The cross member mounts directly to the back legs and uses pre-drilled holes. The brackets and length of the cross-member do not allow it to be placed in the center. I believe this is so you can store cabinets under the bench. Your idea for using the bench as a bar table sounds great! I would create a foot-rest by sanding a 2x4 or 2x6 smooth, router the edges, and finish the wood to match the top of the bench. Drill a hole through the cross members on each end and secure with a bolt/nut/washers.

A: The wood top is sealed with clear lacquer, but to use in the kitchen, it would be better to seal again.
