Product Details

The Mastercraft Back Saw is the perfect tool to handle a wide array of cutting needs. This hand saw features a heavy duty blade made from cold rolled C75 steel, built to create precision cuts on every job. The blade also features razor sharp universal teeth, and is coated with a water-based lacquer that provides excellent rust protection throughout the life of the blade. The back saw is crafted with an ultra comfortable handle that includes a built-in 90/45° mitre guide.

Q: If sharpening is not an option, can the blade be replaced, or are you saying the entire product has to be replaced?

A: There are no replacement blades available so the product will have to be replaced if the saw teeth are no longer functional

Q: Can this saw be resharpened? This is a dandy backsaw for the price. It's not an expensive saw, especially on sale, but it seems a shame if you can't resharpen it.

A: No, it is not recommended. The heat caused by sharpening could wear away the hardness of the teeth, making them wear down at a faster rate. Also, sharpening by hand may cause increased vibration while in use and uneven cuts.

This saw does the trick to cut back some limbs on trees and brambles in the woods.

When you have to tackle the trim and crown moulding...

Works as expected. To work really well, use with a mitre frame that has been secured to a piece of plywood that you are kneeling on.

Great 12tpi saw

With most saws, must be examined off the shelf for any minor discrepancies in the kerf but this one cut true and fast soon as I got it home. Good for the miter box, cross cuts are clean and will even cut plywood well from 1/4in to 3/4in thick.
