Great Little Welder

This is the 2nd unit that I have purchased due to having to sell the first one because of living arrangments. Great units for home projects, would definitly not try to use commercially in amy way.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Real Good Machine

So far what I’ve used my welder for, it worked perfectly. As I get more proficient as a welder I will probably want a larger unit. But for now this is perfect.

Almost perfect weekend warrior welder!

I've had this welder for about 4 months now. I taught myself how to weld using a "How to weld for dummies" book and some youtube videos. It's a great big name welder and comes with a lot of desirable features that you won't get with the cheaper ones. Pros: - Comes with gas hose + regulator, so all you have to buy to run MIG is the gas tank - In MIG/Flux core mode, the gun doesn't have electricity going to it unless the trigger is pulled. This is a great safety feature, as it prevents unwanted sparks and accidents when getting into a comfortable position to weld up a piece. - Wire speed/amp guide is very easy and simple to follow. As well as how to hook-up the leads to the welder. Even a beginner like myself could figure out how to use all functions in this welder in the first 15 minutes Cons: - This will NOT TIG weld aluminum. A major bummer that I learned after I bought this welder. The only way to weld aluminum with this is to buy a separate spool gun for $450 (K3269-1). By the time you add in the price of a new gas tank, it would be ridiculously expensive to set for aluminum. The TIG feature in this can only be used for stainless steel and regular steel. So if you're planning on TIG welding aluminum plan on buying a seperate TIG only machine. This is a great Stick/Mig/fluxcore machine, not TIG though. - For such an expensive beginner/household welder this comes fairly bare. No gloves included in the box or any welding equipment. - The amp read-out is in alphabetic letters rather than actual numeric amps. Not a big deal if you're just starting out and are following the welding chart on the side of the machine. The owner's manual includes a chart showing how many amps each letter pumps out, but I don't understand why they didn't just make it a numeric dial to save us that extra step. - The price. For a machine lacking so much in TIG features, it's fairly overpriced. Final thoughts: If I was to buy this the next time around, I'd get 2 separate machines. A MigPak 140 for half the price (same machine but only has MIG and fluxcore), and spend the other half on a dedicated TIG/Stick machine.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Awesome machine! I got it on sale and used a bunch of CT money. Never seems to have much of a discount when on sale though.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: hi what kind of gas need can i use grassless

1 Answer
  • A: For welding without the need for welding gas, you will need to purchase our flux-cored NR211 welding wire. For welding with Mig or aluminum wire, you will need a shielding gas which runs while you weld. The tanks can be rented or purchased at any major industrial gas distributor such as Praxair or Air Liquide.

Q: Can this welder be use on a regular 120V (15-20amp) or need a special plug with higher amp

1 Answer
  • A: Although this machine runs on a standard Nema 120V plug, we do recommend a slightly higher amperage lag-fuse or time delayed 30-40 amp breaker. This is reduce the chance of the machine tripping the breaker during power spikes.
