Likewise C Batteries, 2-pk

This time last year I needed to replace the 2 c-cell batteries in my Maglight before an annual northbound fishing adventure. My brand of choice is Energizer. I only needed 2 c-cell batteries, not a multi-pack. Canadian Tire only sells the brand names (Energizer - Duracell) in multi-packs and I was not thrilled at being forced to pay for more than what I needed. I gambled an bought the 2 pack of Lifewise c-cell batteries. Their performance met my expectations. The issue ended up being in the packaging. In less than 12 months of use, these batteries ended up leaking and burst inside my Maglight. I have owned it for over 2o years. Have left Energizers in for 3 years at a time and never a problem. Now the flashlight is unusable (junk). Since the battery manufacturer does not appear to have a website, I reviewed Canadian Tire's warranty policy and this is what I have found: "WARRANTY This product carries a 5 year repair only warranty redeemable at any Canadian Tire store.". This does not help resolve the damage caused by products Canadian Tire chose to retail and represent. I am now in a position of having to dig even deeper into the pocket to correct a situation that was caused by an inferior product that should not be allowed on retail shelves.
