NOT SAFE

I bought this as a gift for my husband a few years ago. Unfortunately, we never got around to using it until now. We tried to use it this weekend, and we were extremely disappointed when we realized that it only chops things up and drops it into a bowl. You can't add a bunch of ingredients and have it chop and mix at the same time. Also, as we were using it, it would make a banging sound and then the lid kept coming unlocked on its own. (Yes, it was properly seated in the mixer) When the lid unlocked, the blade continues to spin. Sadly, this is a very poor design, and an injury waiting to happen. I would not recommend this over a traditional food processor.

Not worth the money

Paid a lot for an item used three times and the bolt inside snapped off the part that attaches to the mixer so it couldn’t turn. Tried to take the item apart to see if Incould fix this but it is a typical manufacturer throw away item. NOT Worth the money I tried to slice potatoes, cucumbers, and shred an onion. It stopped during the cucumbers.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Satisfait

Little instruction, Can't register

I like this food processor. However, it did not come with hardly any instructions on how to use. I went online and you only had the same piddly instructions. Then, I try and register it and your website says model not found.

Q: Can you use the food processing attachment to make pesto?

1 Answer
  • A: Hello there, Thank you for reaching out to our support team! Actually, the food processing attachment is not ideal for making pesto. While a food processor is great for chopping, grinding, blending, and pureeing various ingredients, making pesto typically requires a more specialized tool like a blender or a mortar and pestle to achieve the right texture and consistency. A food processor might not be able to blend the ingredients as finely as needed for a smooth pesto. How to Make Fresh Pesto in a Blender Pesto is a rich and flavorful sauce that you can make to elevate any number of recipes. The general recipe uses simple ingredients you can swap with your favorite herbs or vegetable scraps like carrot greens to create a delicious alternative to tomato-based sauces. You can make homemade pesto with the help of your blender to enjoy whenever creativity strikes. WHAT IS PESTO? Pesto is an Italian sauce that combines herbs, oil, nuts and parmesan cheese to create a fresh and rich flavor profile. The word “pesto” in Italian translates to “pound,” as the traditional method of making pesto was to pound ingredients together with a mortar and pestle. You no longer need to combine ingredients by hand to get fresh-tasting pesto. Instead, your blender can do most of the work while you spend more time experimenting with new flavor profiles to pair with this sauce. WHAT DOES PESTO TASTE LIKE? The traditional ingredients for a pesto are fresh basil leaves, garlic, olive oil, pine nuts and parmesan cheese. These ingredients create a unique, earthy, aromatic flavor with a subtle nuttiness. BLENDER PESTO RECIPE You can whip up pesto whenever you please with the help of your KitchenAid® blender. Use the following instructions to learn how to achieve the perfect texture for homemade pesto in your blender. INGREDIENTS 1 part nuts, like pine nuts, walnuts or pistachios 2 parts oil, like olive oil 8 parts fresh herbs of choice, including basil, sage, parsley or cilantro Garlic 1 part grated parmesan cheese or nutritional yeast Lemon juice (optional) Salt and pepper TOOLS Blender, like the KitchenAid® High Performance Series Blender Large skillet PREP TIME 5 minutes TOTAL TIME 10 minutes If you have any further questions or need a follow-up, please let us know! Have a great day. Have a nice day! The shopping support team!
