unless you fish in barely below 0 degree this things useless. tried multiple variations but needs to be kept warm to start . the mix ratio is garbage and the choke is even worse. id rather bath a cat than use this , especially for the price. i will say tho when kept warm and when/if it does start it has a ton of power. also blew out 3 pull cord tops which needed full replacing. jiffy is a great name and put out lots of great products , mine must have been made on a friday at 4:30

I have owned a Jiffy 10" for many years and have only ever had 1 issue and that was because I stored it on it's side on the basement floor and the basement flooded. Carb etc filled with water and would not start next season. A new spark plug and a couple squirts of spray in the hole and started up. Let it run for a bit on a workhorse and problem solved. The 10" model easily carves out holes large enough for the trophy fish...!!! The biggest problem I have seen people have with "starting" is closing the gas tank vent to prevent spillage during transport and then pull their arm off trying to start it without opening the vent...If I was buying a new one today, I believe I would go with the propane model, just to eliminate having another gasoline container around but price wise it's hard to beat the gas models... ;) Happy Fishing!!!

Good Ice Auger

Owned a few in my life. Bought this one 7 years ago and it works great in N. Ontario -35. It is powerful but please remember all power augers can kick back and not built for softies. Get some guidance or use a manual one the first time.

This auger is complete junk. What happened to Jiffy? Out of the box it took twenty pulls to get started. Took it down to lake and after another thirty pulls the auger finally started. It cut half a hole and stalled and wouldn't start again and ruined a day of ice fishing. It finally started when it was back in a heated garage.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: Extension Available? Similar Jiffy products now have a quick connect system requiring 'no tools' for dissassembly..is there an extension available for these types of machines..we often need an extension in our neck of the woods :0)

A: We sell an extension under product number 78-8367. It is a Jiffy 6” and 12” Adjustable Power Drill Extension. You can buy multiple extensions and put them together to go through deep ice.
