The unit was very small for the price, which was very disappointing. It works and I was able to connect it to another unit that I have but it's cost was roughly twice as much as I would expect to pay.

A: LED. Work wonderfully. Keep 4 inches above growing plants so they don't get spindly. I also use them to germinate seeds - speeds up process!! I have some fluorescent which work very well for growing seedlings. Again keep 4 inches above plant.

A: It should work perfect for that ; I used it to start my petunias and tomatoes etc; which I just had it set up on a small table in my dining room which had no windows in the room, so it was perfect.
