Bulbs typically have a hole in the top center where last year's stem grew This looks odd but is perfectly normal It is best to plant this bulb on its side - this prevents water collecting at the top of the bulb and causing it to rot
Bulbs are great for keeping rodents away
Plant in a sunny to semi-shaded area about 8” deep and 10-12” apart
Fritillaria do best when the Bulbs are left undisturbed for long periods of time For this reason they are not recommended for containers
When in bloom, feel free to cut some flowers for bouquets The flowers can be picked without damaging the plant
For fall planting and mid spring colour
