A real turn-on

Bought it, unpacked it and plugged it in. It turned on, but would Not. Turn. Off.
There's an on/off pedal as well as a cord rewind pedal on the back of the base unit. The cord rewind worked fine; unfortunately, the on/off pedal didn't. It remained an " on" pedal only. We couldn't tell you if this unit sucked or not. It was back in the store within 2 hours of initial purchase.

read warranty carefully

bought this for my wife back in January 2013 as it was easy to go up & down stairs and had pretty good suction, however when the wand cracked in September I checked the warranty and it said it was covered for 2 years for all parts. I phoned Cdn Tire & they gave me the Hoover repair depot info in Winnipeg & I called them first and they said that the wand is not covered as wand cracks are due to normal wear & tear. I guess it supposed to just sit on a mantle to be admired. Back to the Dyson I guess.

Never thought I could love a vacuum!

AWESOME vacuum. Nice and lightweight to get around with, yet tremendous suction power and durability. Great attachments for different jobs, and amazing to see all the crud it picks up with the see-through canister. Totally recommend this vacuum - best I've ever used!

A: The 43-6742 Hoover Elite Bagless Canister comes with an electric powerhead - the brush roll is motorized, and can also be turned off for hard floor cleaning. This vacuum also comes with a separate hard floor brush. The hose is 6 ft in length.
