    Austin Planter

It is a very nice looking planter, but unfortunately we have only had ours for a few weeks and one has already tipped over and broken. It was filled with soil and very heavy, so we did not expect for this to happen. Now we are stuck with the one that was supposed to be part of a pair and are concerned the same thing will happen if we buy a new one to replace it.

No, I do not recommend this product.

    Excellent looking planter container...

The only reason I didn't give it a full 5 stars is because it was a little smaller than I expected at the base and being quite heavy, I'm concerned it might easily tip over. But once its filled with some gravel on the bottom and soil, I'm sure it will be fine. Looks beautiful outside our porch entrance way. Glad it comes with a hole already in the bottom. A little pricier than what I wanted to pay but I'm happy with the container.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: can my Austin tall planter #59-5859-0 be used outside during Newfoundland winters?

    1 Answer
    • A: Anything left outside during the winter months is prone to freezing temperatures.  As a result, any water that may penetrate the container or sit in the bottom of said container is prone to freezing.  This would place undue stress on the container, which may result in cracking.  Anything made of cement, fiberglass or ceramic would fall into this category and as a result, it is not something that I would suggest.
