I was looking for a no-rinse all purpose cleaner, because after using my old cleaner (EcoMax), surfaces would quickly get fingerprints and smudges that would not wipe away, unless I did extensive rinsing. An extensive Google search for a no rinse cleaner led me to Hertel. There were a few other candidates, as well, but they all required to be ordered online only, with expensive shipping. Hertel, though, was available in-store at Canuck Tire. There are several varieties of Hertel available at Canuck Tire, including the multi-purpose cleaner. The multi-purpose cleaner is very concentrated--for a one litre spray bottle of water, you add just 2.5 mL (1/2 teaspoon) of Hertel. The concentrate is very thick, with the consistency of honey. It is clear in colour, no artificial colours added. The jug's cap holds 20 mL, which is the right amount to add to an 8 L bucket of water. The cap is that type that will drain its contents back into the bottle, so there's no dribbling down the side of the bottle when you recap the bottle. I love this. The concentrate has a floral fragrance, but when it is diluted to the stated proportions, the scent is extremely light--I can't even detect it most of the time, just catching a whiff of it from time to time when spraying. The fragrance does not linger after cleaning. With no rinsing, this product does NOT leave smudges or streaks. I just spray it on any surface and wipe. No rinsing! After the moisture evaporates (within seconds), the surface looks flawless. Hertel leaves no residue and the areas cleaned with it remain smudge-free and streak-free. The surfaces do not get fingerprinty after cleaning, unlike after cleaning with EcoMax. Hertel is very inexpensive--$4.79 for an 800 mL bottle. If I'm going to be using this 2.5 mL at a time (each time I refill my 1L spray bottle), it's going to take a LONG time to use it up. The 800 mL bottle will refill my spray bottle 320 times. I am extremely pleased with Hertel. As the icing on top of the cake, Hertel is a Canadian product from Montreal. 5/5 Highly recommended

Q: Hertel Multi-Purpose Cleaner Is this product safe on polished limestone floor? Also, is it safe on acrylic and polyester finish cabinets? Thanks

  • A: Before using the product to clean the limestone floor surface or the acrylic surface, it has to be tested on a hidden area of the surface, in order to verify the results. The product also has to be used in accordance with the label instructions. It is ok to use on a polyester surface, according to the label indications.
