Don't waste your money

There was only one small load of laundry on the line when the plastic, yes plastic top support mount broke at the rivet mounting holes. I tried the customer support line on the box and naturally got an automated response that did not even have this product in it's menu. It is bad enough the product is not up to par but the help line is even worse.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Do not buy this!!

I was so excited when we purchased this. I actually chose it specifically as my mother's day gift. I love drying my clothes outside and was using it 3 to 5 days per week. I had it for less than 4 weeks when it totally collapsed. The top supports broke the plastic brackets with only 2 loads of laundry on it. It is a total waste of money, even on sale.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Poor Design Feature

Bought one in late April to replace our 25 year old dryer. This unit was exactly the size and shape we wanted . Did the install in the backyard, and it was fine until last week of June. We looked out in the a.m. and it had collapsed with three beach towels on it (dry by the way). The culprit was not misuse, overloaded , high winds or some one swinging on it. The centre piece at the top of the center pole, where all the arm rods are attached, is totally inadequate for the unit. Two of the riveted arms had pull through the plastic portion, and the other two arms were just about ready for the same failure. Too bad a key part of the unit was a piece of cheap low grade plastic, and very thin wall section. Got my money back and bought a different manufacturers unit. So far so good...don't buy a problem.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Junk!

I bought this August 2015, placed four pair of jeans evenly spaced on it and it came crashing to the ground. Returned it and was given a replacement. First time out this season, one set of twin sheets and one load of my daughters size zero tops and boom, crashing to the ground once again. The problem is the plastic piece holding the support poles at the center beam. If this was metal, it would be able to sustain some weight. This item is not worth the purchase...will be returning it and will not be buying another.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Umbrella Dryer

Used to own same one for 10 years. Decided to replace it with a new one and broke after using a couple of times. It is held together with cheap plastic now and cannot withstand much weight, company should be contacted by CT and report this defect. Returning it.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: How does it attach to the ground? Does it have a spike like other similar dryers or is it a different system?

  • A: It comes with a sleeve that is cemented into the ground. The post of the dryer sits in the sleeve.

Q: What supports the unit? Do you sell a base for it? How does it rotate... at the top or does the whole pole turn? How do you stop it from rotating when you don't want it to?

2 Answers
  • A: The whole pole turns. It's designed to spin freely but you could probably figure something out to make it stop. A couple sandbags around the base, for example, might stop it.

Q: How come I cannot buy the green sleeve separately? I have moved, and the sleeve is cemented into the ground at my old house. The universal stake is too large.

1 Answer
  • A: The green sleeve has been discontinued from the line. The universal stake has adjusters that fit all dryers.

Q: Does it rotate? Is it too tall for me to reach? Does it rotate? I read a review of the larger model, she's 5'2" and needs a step stool. I'm 5'4", I may have a hard time with it as well. My solution would be to put it close to my deck stairs and after the clothes are on, rotate it.

1 Answer
  • A: Yes, this unit rotates. The standard size is 72'' high or 6' because when you dry sheets you need the space.
